I hope to contribute to the healing movement around the world by providing a convenient tool for therapists, and further promote clients healing indirectly. I'm confident that what I'm doing works. I desire to empower therapists with this technique and hopefully experience similar results! I won't over promise that this works for everyone, but based on my observation tracking every client I work with, there's a very high success rate from using this approach. You'll hear the details in my on going case study in the training. Not making much off these trainings with the time preparing and hosting them, but seeing it as contribution to the mental health and healing community. I'm a 1st generation Taiwanese American, grew up from coast to coast in the US, attended college in sunny San Diego, and currently living an hour east of San Francisco. Like many starting out as a therapist, I didn't have any confidence in treating clients. Looking back, I was just providing conversation and coping skills for clients as an associate. Thankful to be introduced to EMDR as an associate at the time - something I felt actually worked and gave me confidence as a therapist to treat clients with! Since then I've gained so many tools and valuable trainings that helped me treat clients with and create this new technique. If any one is interested to partner with me to do research of the therapy I've developed, let me know! I love innovation. The concept of Kaizen, improving things over time, and having that freedom is so helpful in making what AR is today. I respect the need for modalities to maintain fidelity to their model and consistency of trainings, but I choose not to be seek certification or be a trainer through various modalities because of on going membership cost, oversaturation of trainers, and lack of freedom to develop certain modalities further without oversight and permission. That choice led this training to be rejected in particular circles, and I respect their decision. My Experience as a Therapist Currently with 18+ years of experience in the mental health field. Realized years ago that many clinicians with the least training worked with the hardest clients and most severe populations (Schizophrenia, Bipolar Dx, clients needing conservatorship and case management services). Spent years doing social work in community agencies and for San Joaquin county. Then years ago as a generalist in an outpatient managed care setting with 140+ clients and getting 5-6 new clients weekly! I felt overloaded as I used typical therapy techniques (CBT, Exposure, DBT). I then decided to diligently use Brain/body modalities with Feedback Informed Care, and over the next year it resulted in reducing my caseload to about 40 clients as clients graduated from therapy quickly and through typical attrition. Through this process, I created a series of scripted guided imagery exercises (now called Accelerated Resourcing - AR) and paired it to Brain/body related therapies leading to great results for clients. I noticed this working really well and got pretty consistent results. As a generalist therapist at the time, I kept up a case load of 25-30 clients for years! This is not typical in my organization as most therapists hold caseloads of 120+ clients. I have since transitioned to a new position as a Trauma Specialist helping clients daily. I've used Accelerated Resourcing to treat a variety of clients including but not limited to: military, police/SWAT, doctors, nurses, EMT, first responders, people struggling with: profound grief, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, dissociation, relationship infidelity, childhood sexual trauma, emotional abuse, DV, variety of trauma and PTSD related disorders. As those traumas heal, patients are able to improve their current life functioning and management of symptoms. Details of a case study will be shared in the training and the data appears promising.
